Public Speaking & Communication Skills Enhancement Workshop
HKYDA hosted a 2-hour public speaking and communication skills workshop for primary school students from mainland China on 11/08/2024.
The workshop featured training, hands-on debate activities, and an interactive session with HKYDA’s Co-Chairs. Students learned public speaking techniques, debate etiquette, and logical reasoning skills.
Through this workshop, HKYDA continued its mission of cultivating the next generation of influential leaders through promoting debate and public speaking.

The thrilling journey of the HKYDA CUP 2024 has reached its climax with the intense final match on 13/07/2024. Co-Chairperson Ms Zoe Lam closed the stage with deepest appreciation for all the amazing support from the judges, sponsors, participating schools and supporting organizations. Panel Discussion: Learning English as a Second Language
On 06/04/2024, HKYDA hosted an enlightening panel discussion featuring five exceptional young talents from diverse backgrounds. The panel shared their invaluable insights on learning English as a second language, sparking meaningful conversations and igniting language learning passions.
The distinguished guest speakers included Ms. Doreen Duan (Student Representative, HKU Business School), Ms. Erika Lau (Founding President, Kowloon City District Outstanding Students’ Association), Ms. Hayley Chong (Student Representative, HKU Business School), and Mr. Kelvin Ng (Co-Founder & Director, BOOST TEAM LTD.). The panel was moderated by Ms. Zoe Lam, Co-Chairperson of the Hong Kong Youth Debate Association.
Through this insightful and thought-provoking event, attendees gained unique perspectives on the challenges and strategies for mastering a second language. The discussion expanded horizons and inspired the next generation of language learners to pursue their passions with renewed fervor.
HKYDA CUP 2024 Opening Ceremony
Our association kicked off the HKYDA CUP 2024 youth debate tournament with an electrifying opening ceremony gathering over 60 students and educators. Co-Chairperson Anthony Fung delivered the welcoming remarks, setting the stage for an incredible event that marks the start of 5 regular matches and a learning journey of debate.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the teachers, students, speakers and guests who supported this celebration of the spirit of debate, learning, and growth.
