About HKYDA

The Hong Kong Youth Debate Association (HKYDA) is dedicated to fostering the intellectual growth and empowerment of Hong Kong’s youth through the art of debate. Established with a vision to connect students, educators, coaches, and schools, HKYDA organises an annual tournament, the HKYDA CUP, while also working to raise awareness of the profound benefits of debate and public speaking among the general public. By providing an interactive platform for students to hone their critical thinking, oratory, and persuasive communication skills, HKYDA aims to nurture the next generation of influential leaders.

Leadership

HKYDA’s management comprises members from diverse backgrounds, including entrepreneurs, young business professionals, educators, and language specialists. They are all united by a strong passion for and expertise in the art of debate.

Through the association’s various initiatives and platforms, HKYDA aims to empower the youth by equipping them with critical thinking, public speaking, and persuasive communication skills developed through the practice of debate. The association’s efforts also seek to promote debate as an effective tool for academic achievement, personal growth, and social engagement.
